What the app is being built to do
Features
P in the Cup gives consenting adults a fair, pre-chosen schedule and simple tools to follow through, encourage each other and keep control of their own information.
The app is launching soon
The P in the Cup app is not open yet. Everything on this page is Planned: designed and in development, not yet available. Details may change before launch, and we'll update this page to show what is actually live.
Cost
The random scheduling and accountability service is free. Test kits and any laboratory testing are purchased separately.
Who it's for
Individuals, pairs and private groups
The same fair schedule works whether you're keeping a commitment to yourself or to people you trust.
For individuals Planned
Set your own frequency and goals and keep a private record of your follow-through. Nothing has to be shared with anyone.
For pairs Planned
Two consenting adults accept the same written agreement, so both know the frequency, the expectations on a scheduled day, and exactly what each person can see.
For private groups Planned
Invite-only groups with shared or individual schedules, nicknames, and opt-in group challenges. Members can leave at any time. More on groups.
The core
The schedule and the daily check
Fair random schedule Planned
You agree on a frequency; the app's server draws the days in advance. No one in the agreement picks the dates, and they can't be rerolled. How it works.
"Is today the day?" Planned
One clear answer each day: "Not today" or "Scheduled day". Checking only reveals what was already decided, so repeat checks always show the same answer.
Staying motivated
Goals, badges and reminders
Goals Planned
Pick goals that fit you, like a 7-day check-in habit or a 30-day commitment, and see your progress toward them.
Badges, streaks and XP Planned
Digital recognition for participation and consistency, never for a particular test result. Optional: each person can switch XP and badges on or off, and a group or organisation can switch them off for everyone in it. See goals and rewards.
Reminders Planned
Optional reminders to check today's status, so following through doesn't depend on memory. How and when reminders arrive will be confirmed at launch.
You stay in control
Privacy controls and schedule-only mode
Privacy controls Planned
Use a nickname, choose per person what they can see, and leave or delete when you want to. Your login email is still known to the operator, so an account is private but not anonymous. Optional anonymous aggregate contributions are off by default. Privacy explained.
Schedule-only mode Planned
Use the random schedule without storing any test outcomes. You decide whether to record results at all.
What the app won't do
- It won't sell you test kits or require you to buy anything to use the schedule.
- It won't verify a home test result. A photo or self-report is not a laboratory result.
- It won't reward a particular test result.
- It isn't a clinical, court or employer monitoring program.
